Therapy Services
The services provided by Chatting Children Speech Pathology are evidence-based and prioritise the child and the family.
Your speech pathologist will work with you to create a customised plan that meets your specific needs. We nurture the development of communication skills in children aged 3 to 15 years of age and provide support in the following areas.
COMMUNICATION ASSESSMENTS
Comprehensive assessments to explore your child’s strengths and identify areas requiring support.
SPEECH
Producing sounds clearly and correctly so speech can be understood by others.
RECEPTIVE LANGUAGE
Understanding spoken or written language (e.g. following directions, understanding questions, understanding stories).
EXPRESSIVE LANGUAGE
Expressing thoughts, needs, and feelings through spoken or written language (e.g. using a variety of words and sentences structures, responding to questions, telling stories).
LITERACY
Pre-literacy skills (e.g. knowledge of letters and sounds, phonological awareness) and reading, writing, and spelling.
SOCIAL COMMUNICATION
Understanding and using verbal and nonverbal communication skills in social situations (e.g. taking turns in conversation, understanding and using facial expressions and gestures) in order to connect with others and make and maintain friendships.
We work with children with a wide range of communication profiles, both with and without formal diagnoses. Our experience includes supporting children with:
// Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) \\ Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) // Global Development Delay \\ Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) // Speech ( Articulation / Phonological) Delay/Disorder
